Welcome Band Family!


We are excited about kicking-off another great season!

Upcoming Events:

  • Drum Corps International (DCI) show at MTSU July 27 4-11pm: The Band Boosters have purchased tickets for all students and chaperones to attend a fantastic Drum Corps International show. (Think professional marching band!) We will take buses from Brentwood High to MTSU, departing at 4:00 pm. and returning around 11:00 pm.  Students who are unable to attend must notify Mr. O’Keefe so that their ticket does not go to waste! Tickets are already purchased, so please let us know ASAP. There are extra tickets at $29 each for parents who wish to attend and sit with our group: email Susan Buck

  • Welcome Back Coffee July 30 7:30-9am: Please join us for coffee and donuts the first morning of Band Camp! Would love to visit with new and returning members, and answer any questions!

  • Band Camp party August 2 6-7pm: It is traditional to come the last day of Band Camp to preview what the kids have learned. It is a proud moment and we celebrate with treats afterward!

  • Required Booster Meeting August 6 6:30-8pm: Every band family is automatically a member of the BHS Band Boosters. Our mandatory first meeting will highlight plans for the year! Looking forward to finding ways together to support this great program!

  • Tailgate Party August 17 at home football opener against Franklin HS: save the date!

Gatorade and Food Team forms:

Please review attached Drink and Food forms. We will be serving a hot lunch to the kids during Band Camp, as well as Saturday Camp practices and competitions all year. Kids really love this part of the band experience. Please donate Gatorade to keep them hydrated and complete the required Food Team form. We will also need help with preparing and serving meals during Band Camp. It's a great way to check in with your child. Sign-ups coming soon.



  • First Aid: Immediate needs include help with First Aid during Band Camp. You don't have to be medically trained. Please sign up under Volunteer Needs on our internal band portal: Charms. This is a great time to make sure you can log into Charms and stay up to date.

  • New Driver Needed: We are looking for an adult driver licensed and willing to haul the trailer to away-games and competitions. Our previous driver was a parent whose child graduated. Please ask around in our extended friends and family universe to see if anyone can fill this critical need. There is remuneration.

Medical Forms: A Notary will be available at the band room on July 24 from noon-1:30 to assist with the Medical Form which was previously emailed by Mr. O'Keefe.


Fundraising: There are many opportunities to help raise needed funds for marching band. Over the course of this year, we will be asking every family to sell at least five each of Citisaver coupon books, Fruit boxes, and US Flag subscriptions. Funds raised will go towards our collective operating expenses, new instruments, and other important needs. We have confirmed that one such need will be covered by BHS: the school is purchasing a new trophy case to highlight our accomplishments!


Section Liaisons: Look for an email soon from your Section Liaison. This is a parent who can help answer specific questions about your student's section and general questions about band. We are encouraging informal section get-togethers to kick-off the season!
