About the Boosters
The Brentwood High School Band Boosters is a nonprofit, noncommercial organization which supports the band program at Brentwood High School. Parents and guardians of all students involved in any instrumental performing group including concert bands, marching band, color guard, winter guard and jazz ensembles are automatically members, as are the students. There are no membership dues. Everyone affiliated with the BHS instrumental music program is welcome and encouraged to take an active part in the Band Booster organization.
The band program's success depends not just the director and staff, who are hard-working teachers and mentors, but on the Booster's commitment, time and resources. Together we make it happen! Get involved and you’ll not only support this wonderful activity, but get to know your child’s friends and the parents too.
Band Booster Club general meetings are held six times a year on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the band room as follows: August 7, 2007, October 2 2007, December 4 2007, February 5 2008, April 1 2008 and May 6, 2008. At the meetings, you will receive information from the board of directors and band director, hear committee reports, receive financial updates, and have an opportunity to volunteer for band activities. If you can’t attend a meeting, please check the band newsletter online or the website for current events and activities.
The Band Boosters is led by an board of directors made up of elected officers and committee heads. The Board meets monthly and the meetings are open to everyone although only Board members have voting privileges. Any parent wants to present something to the board should contact the Booster president, Ruth Knab or another board member before the meeting so the item can be placed on the agenda.
Many volunteers are needed throughout the school year. Specific requests for volunteers are posted on the web site and via email, but please don't wait for any invitation to become involved. If any of the committees listed below are of interest to you, please contact the committee chairperson and ask, "How can I help?" Please, GET INVOLVED!
